The Braided hairstyle

* One of the best things about braids is their amazing versatility and the possibility to tailor them in order to suit any occasion. The milkmaid braids have a major return in a stylish and rather elegant way, interwoven with colorful strips of ribbon.

Althogh I have to admit that the fashion is really runnin' in circles here, these are very nice, affordable and practical hairstyles.

Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional detective created by Scottish author and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
The fantastic London-based "consulting detective", Holmes is famous for his astute logical reasoning, his ability to take almost any disguise, and his use offorensic science skills to solve difficult cases.
Holmes, who first appeared in publication in 1887, was featured in 4 novels and 56 short stories.
It has been estimated that Sherlock Holmes is the most prolific screen character in the history of cinema.


But who gave us the most powerful interpretation?

Basil Rathbone

The South African-born actor moved to England when he was three and went on to star as Sherlock in 14 movies from 1939 to 1946.

His Holmes was cool, sophisticated and elegant, and is still regarded by many critics as the best.

Jeremy Brett

He became a household name in the mid-Eighties and played Holmes beautifully for ten years in such ITV series as The Case-book of Sherlock Holmes.

Brett had a piercing stare and eccentric approach to the character that made him a perfect Sherlock.

He is often credited with being the closest to the author's original descriptions.

Peter Cushing

One of the more memorable actors to don the deerstalker, Cushing starred in the Hammer film The Hound Of The Baskervilles in 1959 and a later BBC series in 1968.

Although accepted as excellent, fans rate him below Jeremy Brett.

Robert Downey Jr.

Iron Man actor Rob created a wildly eccentric and untidy Sherlock in last year's Guy Ritchie film – which fitted how Conan Doyle had Watson describe his friend in the books.

But we're still not too sure about the bare-chest fighting.

The new series of Sherlock on BBC1 and the magnificent Benedict Cumberbatch.

His name still doesn't trip off the tongue, but welcome to the TV stratosphere, Benedict Cumberbatch. Robert Downey Jr's reign as the hippest new Holmes on the Baker Street block has proved short-lived, and this BBC version should cast a long shadow over Guy Ritchie's movie sequel.

A fun fact:
The Great Mouse Detective is a 1986 animated feature produced by Walt Disney.
Based on the children's book series Basil of Baker Street by Eve Titus, it draws heavily on the tradition of Sherlock Holmes with a heroic mouse who consciously emulates the detective. Titus named the main character after actor Basil Rathbone, who is best remembered for playing Holmes in film. :)

Omnivorous Bon Vivant

Being sassycasual it's all about simple, but beautiful things and glorification of these everyday wonders.
Tasty food is definitely one of them.

I swear to you, even the thought of this delicious food, makes my tongue tingle.

So - chicken and beer - what could go wrong? :)


I marinated the chicken strips in a bowl and added the dark beer, sliced garlic, oil, chilli peppers spice, the origano and some salt, and left it to an overnight rest in the fridge.

The next morning I shook off the excess liquid and cooked them over high heat in a pan with a splash of oil.

Now here comes the twist in the recipe.
The original one asks for avocado, and since the damn thing is so expensive in my poor little country, I decided to fill-in some green peppers and zucchini squash.
It's macedonian flavour all the way ! :)

I grilled them in the oven, for about 20-25 minutes at 200 C.

I mashed the grilled peppers and the zucchini, added crushed clove of garlic, lemon juice and seasoned with salt and black pepper.

The tortillas were allready bought and ready

so I've spread the peppers-zucchini mash on them and top with chicken strips.
I've decorated with season salad - fresh tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, carrots and some parsley.

A few useful tips:
Do not worry if you cook the chicken on a high temperature. The meat will not dry out, because it's been marinated in the fridge all night long. The goal is to get them browned nicely and caramelized, as in the recipe.

Don't be afraid to use chilli pepper spice. I know it's very spicy, but when it's mixtured with the dark beer, it gives kinda sweet and caramelized flavour.

The goal is to mix two very different flavors: the sweet chicken meat and the sourly mash of the vegetables with the lemon juice.


This combined makes an explosion of a great taste!


And your boyfriend will love it too. ;)

I'm not a shoe fanatic, I care so little about designers clothing and labels, but accessories are my passion.

You name it, I want it - earrings, necklaces, rings, watches, scarves, petite bags, my taste is gluttonous.

with sequin beading. It's my most dearest present from graduation, and guess what?

I haven't changed the battery yet, :) and the time is not set. Anyway, I keep track of the time on my cell, and I wear this watch simply as an accessory. :)

Handmade filigree silver earrings.

If you don't know where to find them, be certain that my country has the right recipe for handmade execution.

Believe it or not, the first one with the big beige rock I got it from a flea market and the cost is under 2 euros.

Pretty neat, ha?

The flower ring has silver and sequin beadings, with a big shiny rock in the middle.

The last one is made of amber stones and double silver band.

I do not know if it's real or a fake one, but I love it anyway. :)

“A Colossal Upset”: Macedonia Beats Host Lithuania To Advance To EuroBasket Semifinals

Macedonia completed one of international sports’ greatest upsets in history when it knocked 2011 FIBA EuroBasket hosts Lithuania out in the quarterfinals with a 67-65 win.

Lithuania’s national team is an international superpower — winning three medals in the last five Olympics — and was among the favorites to win FIBA’s European championship. Macedonia has never even qualified a team for the Olympics, and had only appeared once previously in the EuroBasket competition. Led by former University of New Orleans guard Bo McCalebb‘s 23 points, Macedonia faced a hostile atmosphere in which their fans found themselves corralled in on all sides by flak-jacketed security, who thrashed with the fans as they attempted to celebrate with the players.
